Rebecca Mansbridge Glass

I have always been creative, exploring a myriad of different mediums, from paint to textiles. In 1990, though, I discovered a passion. Glass.

Joining a local workshop in Essex learning the centuries-old traditional skills of stained and fused glass, followed by decades of mastering the many processes that can be used with fused glass. Exploring different techniques and testing its boundaries.

My work is firmly rooted in this ancient craft. The joy of cutting a simple sheet of glass and seeing how it can be transformed by heating in the kiln is a love I have never tired of.

My current work explores and stretches the technical limits of tack and fully fused glass. Celebrating the texture and tactile quality of clear glass. Enjoying the way light passes through coloured glass to create amazing reflections.
