Rosie Galloway Smith Profile image

Rosie Galloway-Smith is a Carlisle based artist who creates figurative semi surreal artworks based on emotion, experience, and psychology. She moved to Cumbria in 1987 with her family and attended William Howard School. She studied Fine Art in Hull, and after a period of travelling, trained as an art teacher in London.

In recent years Rosie has completed a Masters degree in Painting at Glasgow School of Art and has been awarded commissions with Artful Ways, Cumbria, and Blackwell the Arts and Crafts House, Lakeland Arts. She has pieces in both the Tullie House and Lakeland Arts permanent collections.

The work currently being shown extends Rosie’s interest in clothes as representations of emotional states and looks into the pathos of dying flowers.
