Sarah Reid - Breaking Through

Sarah Reid

Is an artist based in Penrith, Cumbria, an ideal base to explore the Lakes, Cumbrian coastline, and the Eden Valley, which so inspires her work.

Sarah is fascinated by the ever-changing light upon the landscape and our place within it. Working primarily in pastel, her work captures an emotional response to the scenery and invites the viewer to explore the scene - drawn in by unexpected hints of light and colour to provoke a real sense of being. Drawing on experience and memories to create timeless yet contemporary expressions of our landscape.

Shorelines is an exhibition to both excite and soothe, gritty realism combined with tranquil musings, celebrating our unique Cumbrian landscape and its ever changing moods.

To learn more about Sarah, her amazing Pastel’s, and Sarah’s collaboration with musician Peter Rowan, Sarah produced and posted a video of her creating one of her atmospheric pastel pieces while listening to Pete Rowan's music. This has led to further collaboration with fellow musicians, find out more on the button below
